Hi everyone! I know what you’re thinking.. it’s food again! But this was from a few days ago.. just didnt have the time to blog about it. :)

I made strawberry jam! It’s simple to make as you only need sugar, strawberries and lemon juice. :) There are many recipes online and different ones will tell you different amount of sugar to put in. Obviously the sweeter you’d like, the more sugar you would put. I think mine might be a little too sweet for most, but still taste much better than alot of jams out there. I guess cause it’s more concentrated. :D

It is very expensive to make your own jam in Singapore… sometimes I wish I lived near a strawberry farm. It’s like almost $5 for 250g over here! But I do suggest making strawberry jam for house-warmings, tea parties or any occasion you can think of. :) It makes a lovely gift…

The cloth I’m using was from Cat Socrates and is two sided. :) Strawberry prints on the other side. That’s a biscuit button by the way.

Photobucket

It’s probably better to use a metal lid glass jar so the cloth will sit well on the lid. I like this air-tight jar I bought though… from Pantry Magic.

A special gift made with love!

Hi Loves! Remember the last time I told you that I bought a Nikon D90? Well this weekend I took it out for a “test-drive” and so far I’m really liking what I see. I’m like a kid with a new toy. A very expensive toy for that matter.I stopped by Jones the Grocer at Dempsey for a quick snack. I have to say their cupcake isn’t that great. Looks yummy here, but it the buttercream tasted like meat?! I don’t even know if that’s possible. And it’s definitely not my taste buds. In general it was also pretty dry and tasteless… Sad but true. Oh well… I like color though. :)

Also just wanna let you know that my shop has been updated with my first batch of handmade tote bags! They are all unique and one-of-a-kind and handmade by me! :) The bag sizes all differ, so do check out the dimensions to see if its the size you want. :) Thanks very much!

Hello kiddies! I’m trying to blog more but I’ve been really out of sorts lately, but then again when am I not. I have a developed a strange need to have weird “me” time quite a lot. Weird meaning I would drive 25 minutes to Holland Village just to have coffee and read magazines at Coffee Bean. How odd you say? Tell me about it. Other than that I have been sewing or otherwise trying to survive the last 2 weeks at work.

So anywhohaday, I’m creating new bag designs, and if you follow me on twitter, you’d have spied a new bunny bag. I’ve gotten a few emails from lovely folk interested in my bags… first of all, thank you so much! Secondly, just want to let you know I’m working hard to do more designs first before I start selling me baggies. Also I’m still working and it’s not like I can sew in the office, so time is not on my side yet! You know I am really quite excited about finally leaving the office for good, yet at the same time quite on edge cause I know the moment I quit, I’m going to be haggled by a lot of people about getting a real job. What is a real job anyways?! lol. *frumps* If it’s sitting at an office desk fromm 9-6 every single weekday and getting yelled at for things that have nothing to do with me… I refuse to be normal!

I’m trying freehand cross-stitching. It’s actually really more enjoyable than regular cross-stitching. :)

Tomorrow’s Wednesday! Happy Mid-week mi’loves! xx

Hello lovlies! Sorry I’ve been away for so long. It’s been a crazy week with me working yesterday (public holiday!) and today as well, but I’m glad to announce that I will be leaving my company officially at the end of this month! Hoorah! That means I shall be living the life of an almost-vagrant so that should be quite interesting. haha.

Something to share today! My latest project is inspired by Sonia Rykiel’s giant pompom headbands and can I say that THAT is ONE GIANT POMPOM!

Photobucket

I loved it so much that I decided to recreate it and I’m sure soon or maybe there already are, people doing the same thing.

Photobucket

So I got a pompom maker and made the biggest pompom possible. Technically you can make your own pompom maker with cardboard and such, which I might try to make one day.

Photobucket

I think I didn’t use enough yarn so it wasn’t as pompom-ish as I wanted it to be, but at least now I know!

Photobucket

And tadah! It’s like a hamster on my head! haha… I was thinking of wearing it out but I’m assuming that people are going ask me “can I squeeze your pom pom?” which is really wrong. Got my cousin to take a photo of me while she laughed at my pompom.  I’m going to make one more. Hopefully it’s going to be UBER FLUFFY and MORE LIKE THE REAL DEAL.

Will be back tomorrow!

Good night world! xx

Hello lovelies! I am taking part in the HP blog a trend competition and they’ve asked participants to blog about what the future is. To me, the future is made with love. What do I mean by made with love? Well, recently I have discovered the creative community in Singapore is not as small as I thought as it is. There are many, dare I say it, “Martha Stewarts”, in Singapore. These are lovely people who love to cook, bake, craft and sew etc. You know, all the things that a lot of people out there have forgotten about. I think though, this community is slowly but surely getting bigger. The trend of making things yourself is definitely coming back! It’s like how everyone is falling back in love with vintage. Like they say, trends go, but they also come back.

Nowadays when everything is so mass produced, it’s always nice to receive things that have been created with genuine love and sincerity! Shops like Made with Love and Paper Market have popped up all over Singapore which sell all the materials you need for scrapbooking and fulfilling any crafty projects. Art friend is also getting more popular with their 2nd big branch at Ngee Ann City, making it more accessible to the general public. I’m so glad that this is happening cause it only goes to show you that a lot of Singaporeans are getting very crafty! So inspiring!

When I think back on it, I should have written down my ambition as “I want to be my grandmother” when I was young, instead of a lawyer which is was the “in” thing for all 7 year olds in my day apparently. It took me 23 years to realise that I had inherited my grandmother’s genes, who I dearly admired for her crochet, sewing, cooking and baking skills. Not that I’m at her level yet, mind you. I have another 50 years to go. hehe.

I digressed. Sorry. haha.

So I would like to introduce you to some of these lovelies whom a few, I have a chance to meet and others whom have become my very good friends. They all have e-shops where you can be purchase their creations. The awesome part is they are all Singaporeans! :)

click on images for link pls! XD

Photobucket

Last but not least, Zhulaiha makes the most gorgeous baked goodies. Chanel cupcakes and birthday cake?! Lady Gaga cupcakes?! Not only are they eye candy, but they also taste so good. I’m definitely getting my birthday cake from her.

Okay so that’s all for now! xoxo Have a great Monday!

Hey everyone! First of all I wanted to answer a question I get quite alot and that is “They don’t produce the battery for the Yashica Electro anymore. What battery do you use” The answer is I buy THIS battery adapter. Then you buy the new smaller battery from the camera film shops. Most of them should have it, but if you’re not sure how to attach it to the adapter, I suggest going to

Ruby Photo, 111 North Bridge Rd 01-01 Peninsula Shopping Complex, 179804, Singapore, Telephone: 63380236

to let the nice auntie/uncle to help you put it together. :) So there you go!

Secondly, I’m sick today. Was feeling a little weird last night but today I feel the full effects and I’m going to stay in bed. This means I will unfortunately not be able to make it for the flea market this evening. I’m very sad about it, but no choice, health comes first.Still, I wanted to show u abit of what I made for the flea.

My XL heart tote carryall.

My Small polka dot tote.

I probably have to redo the tote tutorial because it’s not good. I’ve now become neater with my sewing and have learnt the proper way of constructing a tote. Do watch out for that.

So because I can’t sell it at the flea, I will soon be selling them here. :) Okay Sarah over and out. You all have a good weekend you hear?!

Hello lovely people! This Saturday I will be having a stall at the Bazaar@Inside Out Party! Here is their facebook page for more information. This time round I have more stuff which also include my “signature” heart tote bags, other new bags, alphabet postcards and buntings. I’m hard at work making them now so will post photos of the finished products before the week’s end. Please do drop by after dinner if you’re around the area to say hi or better yet, buy much stuff! Do bring lotsa munnies! :D The last time round, I got to meet alot of fabulous people whom I spent more time talking to than actually selling anything and trust me, that was so great! YOU GIRLS ARE SO AWESOME.

Hope to see you there! xoxo

Good Sunshine day to you! Probably abit too sunshine-y, really. In fact, it’s crazy hot here in Singapore. (Bold text for emphasis as I wave my arms in the air shouting “this is madness!” LOL ) I might have to put on sunblock to protect my vampire white skin from getting freckles. And it’s not just the sun, it’s the frigging heat. Past few nights I’ve been sleeping with the air-conditioner turned on, which is a rare situation, cause I usually have a fan on my bedside table which does the trick. But NO… the hot weather is forcing me to me pollute the environment with my air conditioner. By the way, mentioning freckles. I have come to realize there are alot of girls who purposely want freckles. Oh they’re cute now, but when you’re old, they aren’t that pretty anymore. Check with your dermatologist, I’m not kidding! Or if you don’t have my dermatologist, trust me! :)

Enough talk! RANDOM PHOTOTIME!

My Sarah McNeil bunny brooch. I emailed her about some new knitting ideas and I can’t wait to see what happens. :D I want them all!

Making my own flower hair pins. You might probably get to see them on my head at the picnic. Joy!

Oh and I asked my Art Director, ZH to take some photos of his re-decorated bedroom. He’s got good taste in clothes so I expected him to have good taste in furniture. I was not disappointed at all, okay maybe slightly, cause he refuses to give me anymore photographic evidence his good taste. So my point is, it’s not impossible for a straight guy to have a nice neat room. :) Learn fellas, learn!

I’ll have the rest up soon! :)

Okay back to work. Later folks. hugs & kisses.

Hi everyone! Thanks so much for the blog birthday wishes, they were really really sweet. I was smiling really hard, sometimes giggling and I think I did a little jig in my head which is almost a daily thing. But this jig was extra special, promise! Yer all are so lovely! And I look forward to a better and more interesting year! :D

Anyways, I have to tell you yesterday was such an eventful day! The first of many this year I should think. Not in a good way but still when I think about it now, a little bit entertaining. It would be rude for me to talk about it, but let’s just say, if a married couple decides to run a business together, it’s very hard to avoid each other and things are a little awkward for surrounding people. I was pretty raged out yesterday and people do get amused when I sometimes drop the f-bomb cause it’s very out of character for me. haha. But, it all went away with a great dinner and some spectacular dessert! Yuuum. :) I am so easy to please!

So while accidentally going abit too far back in my photobucket photos, I chanced upon these old snaps of me that were on my previous blog that by the way, wasn’t very good. But these photos stood out to me because I was wearing stuff that I made. Am I trying to show off? Sort of. lol. I am quite amazed that I actually made them, but I know for a fact that they weren’t very well sewn. So they look pretty good but they are actually quite bad. Is admitting how bad it’s sewn, showing off? hehe.

I made this skirt/top which is lost somewhere in my closet and I must look for it this evening! :D

Oh loved this dress! Lost it too! haha..  I remember at that point of time, I was so in love with a sailor dress which at that time, was being sold by Liebemarlene, I wanted to make something similar for myself. As you can tell the sewing was a little wonky. Bah, but it was pretty. lol.

I’m developing some film today… can’t wait for tomorrow! Yay! xoxo
