Hello loves! I’m so excited to share with you my visit to The Salad Shop located at UOB Plaza 2, at Raffles Place. I guess if you work there, you would have heard of this place and most likely have been there. I can’t believe it took me so long to go down there, after seeing it’s wonderful interior at the artist and his model. (Thanks Yanda!) No regrets, in fact the salads are delicious, although I should say the ingredients are fresh and yummy because you get to make your own salad. I’ll explain with the photos below…

You choose the size of your salad! I chose elephant size just for the curiosity of it all! main feeds are vege, supplementary are ingredients like eggs and prime are ingredients like parma ham. You can also choose to customize how many ingredients you want but obviosuly cheaper to just get the listed size.

Photobucket

You take a form and tick the ingredients you want… oh, and you also have the choice of soups and drinks on it. The mushroom soup I had was fantastic! It was wild mushroom soup and was NOT from a can. And the lemonade too… brilliant!

Photobucket

You give the form to the staff and they get busy making it! Try not to go during office lunch hour cause it’s too busy! Around 1.30 would be best.

Photobucket

If you’re doing takeaway, they put your meal in a brown paper bag.

Photobucket

Or if you’re seated, they will bring it to you.

Photobucket

These are my choices which I call the kiddy salad. :)

Photobucket

And these are D’s choices… I called her’s the adult salad cause it had bitter greens and all that. SO not me. hehe

Photobucket

And I couldn’t finish mine, so I got a smaller paperbag to take it to go!

Seriously, I’ve been craving for more since I left the place and am definitely going back there…. Friday? lol. :) You lucky people working at Raffles Place! XD

Hello my loves! I spent today like previously mentioned, waking up at 8am to wash the car, then send my brother to work and then go to the wetmarket, which I had not been in ages! I always want to go, but I know it’s best to go with my mother since she’s more familiar with the stalls which meant better prices. :) And then Valencia and Qin came over for lunch, which Val so kindly helped me with in terms of preparation. Japanese curry rice is a very simple dish to make, seeing how the curry comes in cubes packaged in boxes for your convenience. Honestly, I think 99% of Japanese restaurants in Singapore use it and I’ve yet to discover any that don’t. I give them the benefit of the doubt in believing that there at least might be one or two that make it authentically.

My Japanese curry rice consisted of pork cutlets, carrots, potatoes, four cubes of curry and water. The pork was fried seperately then put together with everything else, then left to simmer for awhile. It was a great treat I made for the house ever so often when in London. :)

After lunch, we hung around the house, played a little Cooking mama on the Wii and then made the last minute decision to take a trip to Ann Siang. Val, to our surprise, had never been to Ann Siang before, so naturally we had to visit Kki which is now my all time favourite.

It was so warm today, but when is it not anymore? Rain please come again soon! Happy weekend folks! xx

Hi loves!  The whole day I keep hearing a phantom ringtone over and over again. You know, when u think your phone is ringing but it turns out your just hearing things. Or phantom vibrations… I get that alot too… then it ends up it’s just the bus or something. Anyways this phantom ringtone is getting on my nerves… My phone is right next to me and it’s definitely not ringing, but I can hear it ringing in the distance. I think I’m going crazy.

Today I had so many things to do, getting stuff printed then meeting a client, bringing doggie to see the vet, doing grocery shopping so that my dear brother can have his breakfast tmr and so many other things. I stopped by Cat Socrates today and had a coffee while I waited for stuff to get printed. I asked for permission to take photos which is what I do most of the time. I get asked how I managed to take photos at cafes and other places… just by asking I guess… Plus if you’re a paying customer, even more they shouldn’t say no. Well, I’ve gotten a “no” once or twice from certain cafes I shall not name, and haven’t gone back since. (I pay $14 for a damn sandwhich and I’m not allowed to take ONE photo? Harsh. Plus ur sandwich wasn’t that great either ) :)

If you haven’t visited, where have you been?! XD

I’ve been really busy these few days and events that have been taking place have left me feeling a little melancholy, so tomorrow I will be cooking up a storm in the kitchen to cheer me up! So many things left undone at home, washing the car, going to the wet market, cooking lunch, doing some work and cooking dinner, and hopefull making some baked goods. It’s good to be home. :) Happy Mid-week! xx

Hi loves! Big announcement! I am reopening Sarah+theFlea this following Sunday! For everyone whose scratching their heads, thinking “she has fleas” or “she has a pet flea“, I’m talking about my Flea Market which was closed for awhile. It has pre-loved, brand new and vintage goods all at very good prices. :)

Exciting part is I will be adding a small Men’s section and A Premium section which will include brands like MarcbyMarc, McQueen, Paul&Joe Sister, Elizabeth&James, amongst other luxury brands! So I hope you will be able to find something you like!

By the way, if you make your purchase on Sunday up to 12am, you will get a 10% discount off your total purchase. :)

So mark the date fellow shoppers cause you need more pretty stuff in your wardrobe and I need money for my birthday holiday! hehe. Hope you’re having a great weekend. xoxo

Hello loves! I finally made my way down to Food For Thought with fellow foodie Valencia. While we did drive there, it is great news that the Bras Brasah station located on the new Circle Line is about 10 metres away. So hooray for days when I will have little access to the car starting 2 am tonight when my parents return from their trip to Peru. Yay, another trip to the airport though I would much preferred it if it was ME being fetched from the airport. :) Enough talk, some photos!

Photobucket

Valencia commented that if they had a lamp version for this, it would be perfect for my room. I second that! :D

Photobucket

Perhaps its a job hazard, but I love the paper stock they used. Very old school jotter book. :D

Photobucket

Photobucket

Mushroom soup was great! Different from the norm cause I think they added sour cream/cheese? Very yummy though!

Photobucket

Val had Black Velvet cake. Very good and not overly sweet!

Packet of tissue, designed Singapore style. For everyone whose not Singaporean, over here, we reserve seats at food places by leaving a packet of tissue on the table or on the chair. While I guess it’s become a culture, I wouldn’t say I am very proud of it. LOL. But it does make me laugh.

So do drop by Food For Thought and if you’ve had their main course there…. let me know what you think! :D

Hi Loves! Remember the last time I told you that I bought a Nikon D90? Well this weekend I took it out for a “test-drive” and so far I’m really liking what I see. I’m like a kid with a new toy. A very expensive toy for that matter.I stopped by Jones the Grocer at Dempsey for a quick snack. I have to say their cupcake isn’t that great. Looks yummy here, but it the buttercream tasted like meat?! I don’t even know if that’s possible. And it’s definitely not my taste buds. In general it was also pretty dry and tasteless… Sad but true. Oh well… I like color though. :)

Also just wanna let you know that my shop has been updated with my first batch of handmade tote bags! They are all unique and one-of-a-kind and handmade by me! :) The bag sizes all differ, so do check out the dimensions to see if its the size you want. :) Thanks very much!

Hey everyone! First of all I wanted to answer a question I get quite alot and that is “They don’t produce the battery for the Yashica Electro anymore. What battery do you use” The answer is I buy THIS battery adapter. Then you buy the new smaller battery from the camera film shops. Most of them should have it, but if you’re not sure how to attach it to the adapter, I suggest going to

Ruby Photo, 111 North Bridge Rd 01-01 Peninsula Shopping Complex, 179804, Singapore, Telephone: 63380236

to let the nice auntie/uncle to help you put it together. :) So there you go!

Secondly, I’m sick today. Was feeling a little weird last night but today I feel the full effects and I’m going to stay in bed. This means I will unfortunately not be able to make it for the flea market this evening. I’m very sad about it, but no choice, health comes first.Still, I wanted to show u abit of what I made for the flea.

My XL heart tote carryall.

My Small polka dot tote.

I probably have to redo the tote tutorial because it’s not good. I’ve now become neater with my sewing and have learnt the proper way of constructing a tote. Do watch out for that.

So because I can’t sell it at the flea, I will soon be selling them here. :) Okay Sarah over and out. You all have a good weekend you hear?!

Hi friends! I’ve been busy with work, family and world of warcraft this week. Yes, that’s right. Yours truly is back to playing mmorpg. While I am girly with a crazy passion for floral prints, I occasionally like taking part in virtual battles. Perhaps it’s just the idea of being in another world that is appealing. Anywhere than reality is always a nice place to be. :D

Anyways, my black and white photos have finally been collected. I have decided that while night shots are great in black and white, I’d prefer color for day. The grain is still so beautiful though. Besides, the 1st photo, you’d think I’d visited Europe. Le sighs. Once again, I sorely miss London. jeez.

The view from the room.

These are all photos of cafes. :)

By the way, I’ve been trying to look for Frankie magazine all over Singapore. But I can’t find the latest issue. It’s like they stopped bringing it in!! I hope not!

Tomorrow is Friday. Woohoo! xoxo

Good Wednesday morning to yer all! So dinner was pretty good last night… I ate perhaps far too many oysters, but thankfully my tummy absorbed them well. No oysters for the next 3 years for two reasons, one being I think that’s enough for the time being and two, I can’t afford it. haha.

This morning I went through all the plates that my mum was intending to give away and luckily I did, cause she was about to give away the really beautiful vintage ones which she bought in the 70s from England/US. She has the tendencies to give away nice things like the vintage sewing machine table a few years back. I still bug her about it till today! So I told her Imma keep them for when I have my own home or when/if I open my cafe. And speaking of cafes, I found some inspirations for my dream design. I always picture it to be so cozy that even I wouldn’t want to go home. :D

Happy mid-week loves! xoxo

I’m uber sleepy! I reached home at 1am last night after a crazy day at work which included running errands at Ikea for the office, I woke up at 6am and headed into the office again. Woopty doo! I didn’t have to, but I have a firm belief that if you’re going to get work done, you better damn well give it your all and do the best work possible even till the last minute. And I’m glad to announce it paid off cause my boss give me the thumbs up. By the way, I dislike doing corporate calendars that tell a story about how the multi-national company is going to save the environment/the world… it’s so BS nyah. I do miss being in college… the freedom to sleep and wake up whenever you want most of the week… and even when you’re in class, you can still take a nap. So to all you lucky souls out there, enjoy and most importantly appreciate your learning journey and the joy of being able to go shopping in the middle of the week when there’s no crowds around. I suddenly feel quite bummed out… haha.

So call me a camera idiot, but I only discovered my Leica’s Pinhole Camera function when I was forced to use it due to the battery drainage for my DSLR. It shows how much I actually played around with it. Forget about photoshop!

I brought these bottles home!

Organic Salad.

Organic eggplant curry rice.

Organic cake.

More lovely organic cafe interior.

Yup, N1155 is an organic cafe that served everything you saw for just 1000yen! And it tastes great! Their website here.

& my favourite emo shot.

It’s friday tomorrow! Thank Gawd. xoxo
