Aloha.

This is Reiz from Sittingwishingeating.

When Sarah dropped me an email some time back, i was happy to do her a favour of writing a guest post when she’s away.

My summer getaway.

It should be easy to guess the country i went right? : )

Seriously, I would really love to bring all of them back.

Doesn’t this looks familiar, Sarah?  : )

Here and There.

Bits and Pieces from different parts of Tokyo.

Hope you guys like it.

xoxo,

Reiz

Hello! It’s Friday. Are you as chirpy as me?! I woke up at 9am today though I was supposed to be at work by 9.30am. Thank goodness my mum woke me up, but I definitely feel more refreshed. Time is passing really fast isn’t it? It’s coming to the end of the year so soon and I’m turning 24 the coming year. Though I do feel like I’m turning 30. Yikes! By the way, I’m so happy it’s zoukout this weekend… this means no more annoying advertisements on radio and more importantly, more movie seats available tomorrow!  I’ll be watching An Education. Yay! Abit of Tokyo time now…

Why are all the bicycles so nice in Japan?  I really want one from Muji. When I was standing outside one of their stores, I saw this guy in a business suit go in, after 5 minutes, he came out and unlocked one of the new bicycles outside and rode away. Just like that, he rode to work I suppose. SO COOL! It’s like buying a damn umbrella. lol.

So when I was in Tokyo, I ate ONE cream puff a day in search of Tokyo’s most delicious PUFF! And I have come to a conclusion that THIS one is the best. It’s a from a shop on the way to Tokyo Tower from the train station. You can’t miss it! It’s the only pastry shop. Unfortunately they only do takeaways. :(

And the mille feuille is perfection!

I like Elli Rose whose a model for ViVi magazine. She’s so pretty and her figure… perfect! So I was thrilled when the Selby visited her and her boyfriend Gui at their home. They are crazy and I love it!

When I looked at their pictures, they made me go “awwww.” And then I remembered that I have quite a few friends who are getting married this month. So here’s to wishing them all  the best. May you cherish each other and may your lives together be filled with bliss! Oh and ladies, Remember YOU WEAR THE PANTS. haha. :P

meooowww…. xoxo

Oh by the way do you notice it’s snowing in my blog?! Thanks to Elle cause she gave me the idea. :) And also thank you Marthe for featuring me in her Advent Calender. :D

Good Monday morning! I’m pretty chirpy though I woke up at 6am after 4 hours of sleep. Grand… :D Just happy cause everything so far got done on time and I can relax for the next 1/2 hour then it’s back to to work! As much as I whine about work, I do like the feeling of absolute satisfaction after a project is completed. But every time I get bad reviews, I die a little inside. haha… Okay not really, just me trying to be overdramatic.

So this should be my final entry on Tokyo. It seems like I didn’t get around as much as I thought I did, but it’s probably cause I spent too much time in shops then actually taking photos. Typical.

Cafe Copenhagen ::: Jiyugaoka

General Store ::: Naka Meguro

Cow Books ::: Naka Meguro

Pick Vintage ::: Naka Meguro

Bio Cafe ::: Harajuku

Oh by the way, if you’re very into astrology, you should watch videos by Babara Goldsmith. She is so accurate! Not for non-believers please.
Have a happy week ahead! xx

Hey everyone! Instead of sulking about how my weekend was more like 3 extra days of work, I wanna show with you some things that make me smile and giggle. And most certainly brought me back to the happy time I had on my vacation.

Whoever said everything is smaller in Japan… got it totally right! Small but absolutely adorable. :D

I had an obsession about Totoro previously but now I’m looking for the Ponyo plush toy which I regretted not buying in Tokyo. I’ve been told I look like Ponyo! Now I have to dye my hair salmon red. haha.

The Hermes window display at its Ginza building. I thought that was the prettiest building on the Ginza strip.

While searching for a shop, I chanced upon this in one office building window. I wish I could have it.

And somehow that shop could not be found! Then I saw Mr kitty…. If you’ve been to Japan, do you realize their cats are always so fat?hehe.

Told you the Starbucks cup was smaller!

Oh I can’t wait to go home to my bed. :D
xoxo.

Good Tuesday morning! I did yoga before work and although they say working out in the morning makes you feel more refreshed, I have just guzzled down two cups of coffee and I mean full black coffee and I still feel sleepy. “They” were definitely lying!

So finishing up on Jiyugaoka, I was really just walking around the place trying to not get lost and remember which direction the train station was in and stumbled upon more shops that were so me. So me as in they sold gazillion lovely mixture vintage style homeware and actual vintage stuff.  I spent 10,000 Yen within 20 minutes in the store, which was probably too little if I think back on it. I bought a new apron, wooden thread spool stamps and bird hook you saw in my previous posts, tea towels, tin cups, vintage magazine prints, actual wooden spools and more! I’ll show the rest to yer all soon. Apologies I don’t remember the name of the store… but you’re sure to chance upon it!

Actually there are so many vintage stores in Tokyo, especially Naka Meguro and Harajuku. You just have to walk around, really explore and not be afraid to get lost. :)

My favorite tiniest vintage store & Dorothy. Tiny but burnt a big hole in my pocket. hehe.

Okay nearly done with Tokyo. haha. Bear with me. Have a great week ahead!

I’m uber sleepy! I reached home at 1am last night after a crazy day at work which included running errands at Ikea for the office, I woke up at 6am and headed into the office again. Woopty doo! I didn’t have to, but I have a firm belief that if you’re going to get work done, you better damn well give it your all and do the best work possible even till the last minute. And I’m glad to announce it paid off cause my boss give me the thumbs up. By the way, I dislike doing corporate calendars that tell a story about how the multi-national company is going to save the environment/the world… it’s so BS nyah. I do miss being in college… the freedom to sleep and wake up whenever you want most of the week… and even when you’re in class, you can still take a nap. So to all you lucky souls out there, enjoy and most importantly appreciate your learning journey and the joy of being able to go shopping in the middle of the week when there’s no crowds around. I suddenly feel quite bummed out… haha.

So call me a camera idiot, but I only discovered my Leica’s Pinhole Camera function when I was forced to use it due to the battery drainage for my DSLR. It shows how much I actually played around with it. Forget about photoshop!

I brought these bottles home!

Organic Salad.

Organic eggplant curry rice.

Organic cake.

More lovely organic cafe interior.

Yup, N1155 is an organic cafe that served everything you saw for just 1000yen! And it tastes great! Their website here.

& my favourite emo shot.

It’s friday tomorrow! Thank Gawd. xoxo

So I’m over the whole ordeal… for now. I kinda realize there’s no point in fretting when there’s nothing I can do about it. My astrology reading did say that I would have much money problems this month. :( It’s fate I tell you, fate! By the way, I’m trying out Yoga now. I’m not sure that I really like it. It’s not relaxing at all… tree pose, warrior pose, lying down dog pose… it’s really quite fast paced and exhausting. And whole breathing thing is confusing cause when exactly am I supposed to breathe in and when do I breathe out? Do I breathe out through my nose or my mouth? And if I breathe in through my mouth, is that bad? Lol. Clearly a beginner… you can tell.

While I try to stay away from gobbling down carbs, let’s talk about bread and everything you put on it.  I think my all time favorite has to be butter and sugar on toast! Who doesn’t love that? Then when I lived in London it was marmite and butter on toast. Hmm… I still remember it well. When my brother was staying in Leeds, he would ask my mum to mail jars of Kaya (if you come to Singapore,  you have to try it)  to him. What do you like on your bread?

Presenting a very lovely spread about …spreads. Omg. This lame ho ho is really not intentional. haha… Carry on…

When in Tokyo, I hunted down Dean&Deluca. So I was expecting Dean&Deluca New York style and spend money there NY style… but it turned out to just be a cafe. Still very happy though cause the coffee was rich and uber yummy. And drinking the coffee there did make me feel very rich for some reason. I think it was the atmosphere. Oh by the way, Starbucks coffee cups are smaller in Japan, but they put way more coffee in it! You feel contented after drinking and not feel like you just drank a glass of milk with a sprinkle of coffee powder. *coughs* Did I mention I love Japan? :D

You can find D&D right outside Gaienmae station. Did I spell that right? :D

Good morning yer all! While my parents are away on their 20890th holiday this year, I spent the night sleeping in their room with the tv turned on the whole time and woke up to an episode of The Simpsons. :)  I don’t know why but I enjoy the sound of people talking when I sleep. It calms me and I fall into deep sleep. How about you? :D

Anyways, more of Tokyo to share! Jiyugaoka is the place you want to be at when you visit Tokyo. Take the express train on the Toyoko Line from Shibuya and it’s just 5 stations away. It’s like you’re not in Tokyo anymore with all the many quaint shops and cafes. I was in heaven. Unfortunately I didn’t have enough time, but I will definitely go there again when I return to Tokyo!

Shops in Japan always have little pots of flowers outside their stores which make them that much more enticing to enter. I imagine if we did that in Singapore, say bye bye to your plant within the day! lol.

They even parked a vintage bicycle outside. Not sure what’s the name of the store, but they import stuff from London, in particular Liberty.

I would knick that… haha…

The reason why I headed to Jiyugaoka in the first place was because of the shop Crimp which was featured in Fudge magazine. I bought a perfect lightweight cotton summer top from the nice salesgirl and we had a conversation in Japanese/English/hand gestures. Bah. I really need to improve my Japanese. Hazukashii na.

Quatre Saisons sells lovely rustic French style homeware. From stationary to cooking utensils to glass milk jars. I nearly died from too many choices. But in the end, bought a pencil and two milk jars. :D Visit their website here.

I have a question… where do these shops get all their stuff!?! XD

Okay back to office werk. Love you all! xoxo

I wanted to do an outfit post today, but decided to draw away some attention from my photos by putting up “touristy” photos of Tokyo before .them I’m quite shy that way… haha. By the way, thanks everyone for coming back to read my blog, it’s really delightful to know that I haven’t been forgotten. *sobs* Much love! Much love!

Asakusa Temple. Third time there. :D Hasn’t changed abit since the first time.

I had this schoolbag before. The exact same one and did the exact same thing. POSER… i know right…? Lol

Akihabara. I’d belong here… if I were a guy… Otaku heaven.

The streets of UENO. Walk along the stores right under the train tracks!

My about pic! Took quite a while to get the riiigghhht angle.

My bag from a Tea&Coffee place in Melbourne. Great for dumping everything in!

Wearing Zara Military jacket, Muji dress, Gmarket flats.

Bah back to work tomorrow. poop.

Ah so many Tokyo photographs… I’m not too sure how to organize them in terms of blog entries. Soo… I’ll just start with this cafe/tiny shop in Naka Meguro, Tokyo. The person who owns it lives right above.  The day I dropped by, it was open 6pm - 11pm! If I had a cafe right now… or actually my own kitchen, I would love it to look like this! It also has a little store that sells apparel and accessories which are all really lovely, but at that point of time, I was kinda broke already… hehe. So if you’re in Naka Meguro, do stop by for a beer… *I had my first Japanese beer there… and while I hate beer, I do love the taste of Kirin. Maybe I’m just being biased. hehe.

Little gems in the windows.

Tiniest houses.

Behind the counter.

I wanted to purchase that bread tin from another shop, but … my luggage at its maxxxxx… :(

I wanna know the name of this plant though I was told it can’t be grown in Singapore. Boooo… Oh by the way: Recycle your tins!

On the counter…

The English writings in Japan makes me giggle.

Close-up of the window…
