The Rain in Spain falls mainly on the Plain

Good Monday Morning to yer all! So thanks once again, but this time to readers who came by yesterday. You ladies are too awesome! :D  So both Valencia and Valentia came down one after the other, it made me recall my trip to Spain almost 3 years back now well cause there’s a actual Spanish city named Valencia, which is magnificent and absolutely beautiful. So I went digging around my harddisk to find photos from them. Mind you I was using a Sony digi cam then cause although I bought my DSLR, I didn’t know how to use it so I just left in my luggage. lol Oh and before I go on I have to just mention… Yesterday at the flea market, I saw this girl using a Nikon D700 …. using her built in flash. I got pretty upset. I mean this is totally my opinion, but if you’re going to get a professional camera, shouldn’t you learn to use it the right way… the way Nikon intended the camera to be used. If you’re going to do flash photography with a Nikon D700, you might as well get a lower end DSLR or even a little digi cam, cause the photo will turn out the same way. Please don’t buy a professional camera just to show off… Oh do I sound upset, a little I guess. *Sighs*

So anyways back to a more beautiful place… Spain! Yes, Spain. One of my favourite places was one of the apartments designed by Gaudi, in Barcelona. They furnished the apartment to make it look the way it would have looked like in a century before. It’s lovely! I wanted so badly to live there… haha … yes, in the museum itself. :)

Will be back soon. Love you all! xx

this is so beautiful! Love the cradle :)

  2. Love everything that’s hanging off the knobs in the last photo. And also that giant travelling trunk! The good old days before the 25kg weight limit! Haha.

There are too many DSLR posers around nowadays. You’re not alone in feeling a bit miffed. I don’t know much about all the newfangly DSLR (I did look into getting one but I know it’ll be a white elephant because it’s just too bulky to carry around and I know I will revert back to using my tinny old but trusty Canon Ixus) but I hate flash photography, unless the person is Terry Richardson, on any camera. It’s so “sayang” (wasted) to have a such a good tool and not use it properly, isn’t it? xx

The trunks!!!! Ah and well, despite you using a P&S back then, you already had the eye for nice details.

OMG, gorgeous photos! Spain is in my places-to-set-my-foot-on-before-I-die list, and your post has reminded me of it :)

Likkle girl: hahaha… thank Gawd I’m not the only one. Yeah after awhile the posers will get tired of carrying a DSLR around… I just hope less people thread into the world of film. ahahaha. I wanna still feel sorta special in my head.

    Melly: Oh shucks… hahaha…

Elle: Thanks Elle. You have to definitely go!

I love all these photos you posted here. *Sigh* I long to visit Spain…one day! and as for posers…yeah it annoys me too but i feel sad that they spend so much on something which they have no knowledge of, that is the saddest part.

    I like your photos :)
I agree that people shouldn’t buy something to show off (I wrote about it because of kind of irritating questions about camera and the like recently: http://is.gd/6zHPj — I got here from seeing your comment on Park & Cube!) but I urge you not to judge others for this, especially when you might not really know. Maybe they were using fill-flash to fill in shadows– there are people who use tons of lighting and flash in outdoor settings on sunny days, even! I’m just saying, don’t judge someone for that, especially if you don’t know them. They might have a perfectly good reason for using flash, and heck, they might even be a good photographer. :)

Hello!! I can’t believe my name is mentioned in your blog! :D I’m so honored to see my name here :D I ‘m so sorry about that day, I wasn’t as talkative and friendly as I usually am. Was kind of down with a flu so was a little unwell. Hope I didn’t seem unfriendly or anything! Really glad to meet you and I actually had fun making the notebook, only thing was I wish I was more careful. :D The white notebook is no longer very white now unfortunately. -.-

Sigh, it is annoying to see people who can afford these cameras isn’t taking care of it properly. Most of them don’t even put it in a case and just swing it around. Makes me wanna take that camera away from them and treat it better. :D

Spain is really lovely from what I heard. One of my must go places. (: I definitely have to go see the place my name originated from. :D

You know, I went back home and realized that I should have brought more stuff like the prints by your friends and the adorable tea towels. Silly me :D

Sui: oh of course I would never judge someone who was keen on learning, but the girl was showing off very loudly to her friend how she got her dad to buy the camera for her and when her friend said she shouldn’t use the flash, she said “but we’re indoors” and I was miffed. lol. Plus I know she was taking photos on auto. I might not be a professional, but I do know when people are pro or not. :D

  10. Sarah says:

Valentia: haha stamps are really messy it’s true. But I hope you had fun.

And yup… agreed about the camera. Haha It’s like you know you’d give it a better home. hehe

is this casa mila? Gaudi is one crazy genius.. and I 100% agree about Valencia, I like it there much better than Madrid or Barcelona :D

  12. Ahh Spain! (sings)”I just got back from Barcelona~” Loved it! Haven’t gotten down to posting pics on it though. Still at Paris :)

I totally heart the trunks, the rocking horse, the little bike!
