Hello my loves! Had a good weekend? This weekend I finally bought a dry cabinet for my cameras and scored an absolutely beautiful vintage typewriter. I will definitely tell you more about that soon! Other than that, this weekend has been full of storytelling, sleeping, a little bit of work and some cooking. I’ve now made it a habit to cook at least once a week just as practice I suppose. I find it therapeutic, but definitely don’t like the washing up part. haha. My mum always tells me that I’d better make sure my future husband is keen on cleaning up the house cause I would definitely be very horrible at it.

I made pork in cream of mushroom sauce + brocoli + brown rice. When I was studying in London and pressed for time or just plain lazy, I would bake meat in the oven with some sliced mushrooms and a can of campbell’s cream of mushroom soup spread over it. This is the lazy way of coming up with my own version of cream of mushroom sauce which I very proud to share with you. hehe. My then housemate Kevin cooked broccoli in butter+garlic+salt and it was so yummy! I know it wouldn’t be a revelation to most, but when you lived in a Chinese house all your life and the only version u know of broccoli involves oyster sauce+garlic+sunflower oil and sometimes scallops (Chinese weddings always have this dish. Ick), a total difference in flavour just makes your tastebuds tingle in delight. You know when Julie Powell said that everything tastes better with butter? She definitely wasn’t making it up! I wanted to take a photo of the end result, but the sun had already set and improper lighting makes food look very undesirable. lol. Oh well… more next week.
