Hello everyone!
I’m getting back on track with blogging.
I realised I have quite a lot of photos I’ve been wanting to share but have been procrastinating…More photos from last year’s trip to Japan. Hope you’re not bored of them yet!
Delicious sushi with dad in Narita before he flew off to LA.
Visiting an Orchard in Chikuma City.
Proof of Japanese hospitality - The owner of the Orchard gave us some of his grapes to eat for free, while telling us about his 2 year stay in Singapore 10 years ago. hehe
Doorway into the past.
soft-o cream-u.
Thought about buying this mask, but it kind of freaked me out a bit.
Poo candy. Tasted like coke. haha.
Hand-made Japanese ceramic cups. I bought a bowl, thinking I was going to eat ramen from it. However, it’s too precious to be used, so I just look at it everyday.
Great way to decorate with plants.
It says : yama no uchi - The mountain’s house.
Monkey love.
Made a 45 minute hike up a mountain to see snow monkeys bathing - up close and personal.
KYAN BERU SUPU. I love Japanese supermarkets!
Everything looks more adorable in Japanese.
Aburi Salmon sushi - To aburi - Using a blowtorch, they lightly sear the salmon to create a slightly smoky taste. yum!
In the Ramen Museum - Yokohama.
Don’t you just love their translation to English.
Yokohama
The real IPPUDO ramen - best meal ever. Beats the Singapore branch by a hundred thousand miles.
Me. Mum. Uncle Matsumoto.
Chicken carpaccio.
Best Yaki Tori ever.
Chicken Skin - a sin I’m willing to commit whenever.
Tokyo shopping.
Love the logo.
Vending machines everywhere. Fortunately I could read the words.
What is a trip to Tokyo without crepe.
Vintage Heaven.
These are almost all the photos I’ve left so far on my trip. The last entry is going to all about the wonderful Ryokan I stayed in Chikuma City, just outside of Nagano City. Will be back soon!
Hope you’ve had a great weekend! ![]()

Hi my lovelies!
Happy happy weekend greetings! I’m terribly sorry I haven’t been blogging in such a long while. Blogger’s block maybe? Sometimes I’ll wanna write about something really trivial and then I’ll think “meh, what’s the point?” Major things have been in motion lately, but I’ve become a little superstitious and decided not about to blog about them until when they actually do happen, just in case I jinx it. Don’t want be the girl who cried wolf, you know.
Anyways, my good friend, Dawn, has been in Singapore for awhile and is leaving early next week! *sobs* Since I got access to the car yesterday, we decided to do a little “cafe/nice places-hopping” in the Bukit Timah area.
I read about the new Baker & Cook in the newspapers last weekend and knew I had to check it out as soon as possible. It is located right at the other end of the famous row of shophouses as Lana Cakes, along Hillcrest Road.
carrot cake.
When you enter Baker & Cook, you are pleasantly greeted by an array of beautifully baked goods. From breads, to tarts, to cakes whole/slices.
While I expected it to maybe be a bit pretentious, the ambience is instead pleasant and cozy. The staff are also very friendly and eager to help. Plus, prices were pretty decent!
tarts.
Dawn and I order carrot cake, danish roll, hot chocolate and cappuccino.
Loved their carrot cake! Dawn was quite sure it had some orange in it which made it more tangy and tasty. $4.95/slice
Miss Dawn Tan of handmadelove. :D
Danish Cinnamon Roll.
My cappuccino.
I suppose unless you live in the Bukit Timah area, Baker & Cook is very out of the way. But of course, that never really stops us Singaporeans when it comes to good food.

HOLA!
Hope everyone have been well! The store is updated with eight stunning vintage bags* and clothings specially handpicked by me from Los Angeles. More vintage dresses will be coming in throughout the next two weeks so do drop by!
*Most of the vintage bags are in very good condition except that some metal parts are discoloured or show signs of wear. It is part of the endearing vintage charm!
Please feel free to contact me should you have any queries!

Hello my loveliessss! Hope your Chinese New Year has been fantastic. I love festive holidays such as these where you mindlessly eat and enjoy yourself with friends and family. Unfortunately for me, I fell ill yesterday. Fortunately, after spending one whole day sleeping and trying to perspire the fever out in a dark room at my aunt’s place while everyone was playing mahjong, I felt better. And today, was at least able to spend some time with loved ones but sadly, unable to enjoy the taste of glorious food. :( Oh well…
Anyways, if you haven’t seen it on the Sadie Rose Facebook Page, here’s the second baking video, this time featuring my hands. LOL. Enjoy!
Gong Xi Fa Cai everyone!

Oh Finally! Finally! Finally! I’ve been wanting to grab some cupcakes from Plain Vanilla since awhile back…. and…
Hands down, best cupcakes in Singapore so far. First of all, the cupcakes are gorgeous and look absolutely yummy and when you take that first bite, you’ll be glad to find out that the cupcakes taste as good as they look. Or at least, that’s the experience for me. Second of all, they use cream cheese frosting on top of all their cupcakes, which is great cause the frosting isn’t too buttery and has more of a natural flavor and sweetness to it as compared to the conventional butter cream (with all that butter and icing sugar!).
Plain Vanilla is hidden away on the second floor of a shop house, sharing it’s space with hair salon, Mad About Hair. So just look for the stairway entrance to Mad About Hair and you will immediately see a cozy little set up at the top of the stairs (stairway to cupcake heaven!) Mad About Hair is located opposite Harry’s Bar. Plain Vanilla doesn’t have sitting space, so it’s just takeaway (which is why I took my purchases to Starbucks and chomped down on all of them with my cake-loving-buddy Mr T. Coffee and cupcakes, you can’t go wrong.)
You will be greeted by a variety of mouthwatering cupcakes. $3.20 for one. $18 for six.
I highly recommend my favourites, CINNAMON BROWN SUGAR and STRAWBERRY WHITE CHOCOLATE.
They have Chinese New Year Specials Mandarin Orange and Almond.
Though a tiny space, it’s so quaint, cozy and so adorable. And the owner Vanessa is very friendly, very pretty and from what I have eaten so far, a very talented baker. All in all, wonderful visit!
I’ll definitely be back for more!
